Terms and conditions
Version 2026-08-14
This document is not final. Attest is invite only while the trading entity is being registered, and the company details, contact address and subscription prices will be published here before paid subscriptions open. Everything else on this page applies now.
1. Who we are
Attest is an online exam preparation platform. The trading entity is being registered, and its registered name, registration number and physical address will be published here before paid subscriptions open.
You can reach us at support@attestprep.co.za.
These terms form an agreement between you and us. By creating an account you agree to them.
2. What Attest is, and what it is not
Attest is an independent preparation platform. It provides practice questions and mock exams to help you prepare for regulatory examinations.
Attest is not affiliated with, accredited by, approved by or endorsed by the Financial Sector Conduct Authority (FSCA), or by Moonstone, the examination body appointed by the FSCA to conduct the RE1 and RE5 examinations. The FSCA does not accredit or approve examination preparation providers.
Attest is not an accredited education institution or skills development provider, and it does not offer any qualification registered on the National Qualifications Framework. Nothing on this platform carries continuing professional development (CPD) hours or points.
Attest does not register you for an examination, book an examination sitting, invigilate an examination or issue any certificate. All of that is done by the appointed examination body.
Questions on Attest are written by us against the qualifying criteria published by the FSCA. They are not past examination questions and are not drawn from any live examination paper.
3. No guarantee of a result
We do not guarantee that you will pass any examination. Your result depends on your own preparation and performance on the day.
Scores, pass indications and section breakdowns shown on Attest are practice indicators generated by our own marking. They are not official results and have no standing with the FSCA or the examination body.
4. Accuracy and changes in the law
Attest covers financial services legislation, which is amended from time to time. We review our content regularly and flag questions that depend on monetary amounts or time periods, but we cannot guarantee that every question reflects the very latest amendment at every moment.
Nothing on Attest is legal, financial or compliance advice, and nothing on it is advice in respect of any financial product as contemplated in the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act 37 of 2002. Always check the current legislation and the current preparation guide published by the FSCA.
5. Your account
Your account is personal to you. Do not share your login details, and tell us promptly if you think someone else has access to your account.
You may not copy, reproduce, record, screenshot in bulk, scrape, resell or redistribute any question, option or other material on Attest. The question bank is our original work and is protected by copyright.
We may suspend or close an account that is shared, that is used to extract our content, or that is used in a way that could compromise the integrity of a regulatory examination.
6. Subscriptions, cancellation and refunds
Some content is free. Full access is offered on a paid subscription. Prices are shown on the platform before you pay.
The billing cycle and prices will be published here before paid subscriptions open.
You may cancel at any time. Cancelling stops the next renewal. You keep full access until the end of the period you have already paid for, and we do not refund part of a period that has started.
If we have charged you in error, or if the platform is unavailable for a prolonged period, contact us and we will put it right.
Your attempt history and progress are kept when a subscription lapses, so nothing is lost if you subscribe again later.
7. Availability
We aim to keep Attest available at all times, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may need to take the platform down for maintenance or changes.
We may change or withdraw features. If a change materially reduces what a paid subscription gives you, we will tell you before it takes effect.
8. Your personal information
We process your personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act 4 of 2013. We collect your email address and your practice and examination attempt history, and we use these to run the platform and show you your own progress.
We do not sell your personal information. You can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete your account and its data.
The owner of Attest acts as the Information Officer for the purposes of POPIA. The Information Officer's name will be published here once the trading entity is registered.
Our full privacy notice, which sets out what we collect, why, how long we keep it and what your rights are, is published at /privacy.
9. Liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss arising from your use of Attest, including a failed examination, a lost opportunity or a lost appointment as a representative.
Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act 68 of 2008 that cannot lawfully be limited.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. If we make a material change we will ask you to accept the new version the next time you log in. The current version is dated at the top of this page.
11. Complaints and governing law
If something goes wrong, contact us first at support@attestprep.co.za and we will try to resolve it. If we cannot, you may refer the matter to the National Consumer Commission. A privacy complaint may be taken to the Information Regulator.
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of South Africa.
